Precinct Election Process

Post your questions regarding this process, which includes the election of precinct officers, legislative district officers, members of the county executive committee, delegates to the state convention, delegates to the congressional district caucuses and delegates to the national convention. I'll do my best to answer them and perhaps it will evolve into an FAQ that we can flag as sticky.

Am I correct that 'legislative district' refers to the districts assigned as House seats? Do you find this valuable?

"Yes legislative district (LD) refers to state house of representative district"
Okay, so counties with lots of people have multiple LDs because they have multiple reps. I know that some House members cover territory in more than one county. Is it possible for two counties to be covered by only ONE rep and, if so, do they have separate elections for county leadership, or one big one covering the entire LD? I guess I'm getting technical here.

Yes, there are many counties that share a single rep with other counties. In those counties, the precinct man, woman and youth directly elect the county executive committee at a county convention. LD's are only used in Jefferson and Fayette Counties. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?
