So, you want to help create the mosta comprehensive, user-friendly online resource for Kentucky Democratic activists EVER?!?activists?

Here’s how to get started.

The important thing to remember is this: if you can edit a Word document, you can help build BlueGrassWiki.
We are currently trying to compile information for all 120 counties in Kentucky. Here are step-by-step instructions of what to do to build a county page.
***We suggest opening this page in a separate tab or window in your browser so you can refer to it as you help build BlueGrassWiki.

1) Register and become a member of our growing community of BlueGrassWiki writers. 2) Once a member, navigate to the "County Parties" page in the left sidebar. Once on that page, click on the “Add a New Page” link on the right sidebar.
3) A pop-up will pop up. Enter the name of the county.county where it says "Page Name." Then, and this is important, important, make sure you click the "Use a Template" dropdown menu and select "County Template."
4) Once you've created your county page, customizing the information is as easy as editing a Word document. Just click "Easy Edit" and get started!

A few things to remember:
  • Before you post a county chair or vice-chair's personal contact information, please get their permission first. If they decline, you can just write "Declined to Give."
  • Format email addresses like this: wikier [at] volunteer [dot] org. Doing this helps prevent that email address becoming the subject of nasty junk mail.
  • To create a link to a page, navigate to the page you want to link to (in another window or tab), copy the web address, then highlight the language you want to link from on the BlueGrassWiki page and click the "Link" button in the EasyEdit Toolbar. A window will pop-up asking for the website you intend to link to. Paste the web address in the "Link to" box and click "Add a Link." Voila!
  • At the bottom of the page is an attachment listing all of the county chairs and vice-chairs, along with phone numbers for the party HQ. Download it.
  • Also, I have uploaded a Word document that has web addresses and contact information for the dozen or so county parties that have websites. Download it.

    5) You can use the links below to help find the information you need to create the page.

    Maps:
Google maps (for helping people find the meetings).
Kentucky House of Representatives Districts (by county) (by district)
Kentucky Senate Districts (by county) (by district)

Kentucky Democratic Party: County Party Contact Information (has some websites and email addresses)

    6) Turn on some music and get wikiing!
